Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 2 cups finely crushed graham crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Cheesecake Filling
- 2 cups cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
Pecan Topping
- 1 cup pecans
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for pecan topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: Combine the finely crushed graham crackers, melted butter, and 1 cup granulated sugar in a bowl. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a trifle dish. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set.
- Make the cheesecake filling: Beat the cream cheese in a mixing bowl until smooth. Gradually add 1/2 cup granulated sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until the mixture is fluffy and well combined.
- Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cheesecake mixture to create a light, airy filling.
- Cook the pecan topping: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine corn syrup, 1/2 cup sugar, and ground cinnamon. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Add pecans and cook for 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
- Assemble the trifle: In the trifle dish, layer the graham cracker crust first, followed by a layer of cheesecake filling, then a layer of the warm pecan topping. Repeat the layering until the dish is full, finishing with pecans on top.
- Chill before serving: Cover the trifle dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to let the flavors meld and the dessert set properly.
Notes
- For best results, use room temperature cream cheese to ensure a smooth filling.
- The pecan topping can be made a day ahead and refrigerated; rewarm slightly before layering.
- Use a glass trifle dish to beautifully showcase the layers.
- Ensure pecans are fresh and lightly toasted for enhanced flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
